Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy involves bilateral stimulation of the brain. A few sessions of EMDR is equivalent to about 2 years of psychotherapy. This technique involves the same process that occurs during REM sleep, except it is with intention on specific targets. Why does that matter? It's your brain healing itself! There is no hocus pocus here. It is merely your brain using the knowledge it already has to bridge the gap between what you already KNOW with what you FEEL.
